Summer Thursday 6/7: Opening of the marketplace

Arjeplog's old marketplace has now become an AR experience! We demonstrate the app where you get to go on a journey in time. We gather at the Silvermuseet's entrance and walk together to the starting point behind kyrkströmsgården.
The old market place, or Plass'n as it was called, is strategically located by the water. An area whose long history dates back to the 17th century mining project at Nasafjäll. The marketplace became a hub for trade, but was also a meeting place for burghers, nomads and later settlers. Here, skins, wadding, flour, salt, silver and other products were exchanged, bought and sold. A place to get and share the latest news from the coast, inland and far beyond.
Well hidden under the brush and grass, it is difficult to discover this cultural and historical site. But with the Silvermuseet/INSARC's research as a basis, we have developed an AR experience that lets you take part in the history of the marketplace!
