Christmas at the museum

An old postcard with the text "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" hangs from a birch branch along with Swedish flags and a red apple. In the background, a painted log wall and a spice rack.

You are very welcome to visit us! Here you can read about our current exhibitions and what else you can do at the museum.

True to tradition, the Arjeplog Art Association organizes a Christmas Salon in Västan here at the Silvermuseet. This year, several Arjeplog photographers are exhibiting their work, fantastic pictures of magnificent nature, people and animals.

In addition to the Christmas salon, we also have the pleasure of showing a poetry exhibition, where students from SFI have written poems on the theme of winter and Christmas. Their works, illustrated with Johan Fjellström's pictures, can be found in Östan.

If you want to know a little about Christmas in the past, we have a mini exhibition on the theme in the café room. Here you can see the Silvermuseet's little Christmas tree and pictures of Christmas celebrations from our archive. In addition, an annual exhibition about fish has been resurrected in a new form downstairs in the exhibition Ur Naturen. There you can read about the tradition of Christmas fish - among other things.

Then, of course, it is possible to visit Plupp, see the slideshow or of course "just" go to the museum.
Or look in the shop.

Either way, a warm welcome to you!
