Collection stop
What's new
The Silvermuseet is a large, small museum, with limited storage space. We have now reached the point where our stores are full - and we unfortunately have to impose a collection freeze.
As Arjeplog's common memory, we have a duty to manage the collections properly, with good storage in our repositories and a system that is sustainable. This is to ensure as long a life as possible for the objects. It is also important for us that those who donate objects here should feel confident that we take good care of what ends up in our collections.
So until we have a solution to the storage issue, we are unfortunately not able to accept bulky items or things made of metal.
Archival material such as photos can still be submitted, as well as smaller items of wood, horn and in some cases textiles.
If you are unsure whether you have an object that is of such great cultural-historical value that it should be in a museum, you are warmly welcome to contact our conservator Matilda Sundström, matilda.sundstrom@silvermuseet.se.
