Suddenly inheriting the legacy of a grandfather who was a priest in Sábme at the beginning of the 20th century can feel like a big responsibility. Human rights lawyer Johanna Westenson chose to write the book "My love for this people", in which she takes her grandfather's role as a priest in northern Sweden as her starting point and talks about colonialism, racism and the church's influence on Sámi politics.

What: Book talk on My love for this people by Johanna Westeson
When: Friday 4/10 at 18.00
Where: Polstjärnan, Silvermuseet

In the past, Johanna has visited us with material from the picture archive her grandfather left behind, with the desire to identify people in the pictures and discuss with the Sámi community how and where the pictures should be managed.

Now she is here to talk about her book, in conversation with museum director Malin Brännström.

A warm welcome! Burist båhtem!
