The Museum Board

The Silvermuseet is run as a foundation and the board consists of seven members. Three of these, and their deputies, are appointed by the municipal council of Arjeplog. The museum director is a co-opted member.

The President

Lars Holmgren

Lars Holmgren has been co-owner and CEO of one of the local companies in the vehicle testing business and is active in the industry with operations in northern China. He has previously worked with strategic planning, business development and operations manager at Öland Tourist Association. Also been project manager for a number of historical exhibitions both on Öland and in Arjeplog. Has a degree from Linnaeus University in economics, marketing and tourism.

Anders Erling Fjällås

Anders Erling is a reindeer herder and chairman of the Semisjaur-Njarg Sami village. He is also active in politics and sits on the Sami Parliament's Reindeer Husbandry Committee.

Dan Brändström

Dan Brändström has worked as a university lecturer, director of studies, head of department and rector at the Umeå School of Social Sciences, head of the Regional Board of the Umeå University Region and university director of Umeå University. Formerly Executive Director of the Riksbank Jubilee Fund.

Erik Hägglöv

Erik Hägglöv is a trained social worker specializing in municipal finance and planning. He has been employed by Pitedalens Sparbank since 1976, with Arjeplog and Arvidsjaur as his area of responsibility. Was CEO from 1999 and then CEO for 14 years in Sparbanken Nord. He is Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Savings Banks and is also a member of a number of other boards.

Isak Utsi

Isak Utsi is the chairman of the municipal board in Arjeplog municipality.

Madelene Aheinen Westerlud

Madelene Aheinen Westerlund is a teacher of math, science, music and entrepreneurship. She is an active municipal politician with a passionate commitment to education, culture and rural issues.

Ola Kellgren

Ola Kellgren has a long history in art and culture. After studying in Gothenburg and working at the Industrial Museum and Gävleborg County Museum, he moved to Umeå in 1986 to work at Västerbotten Museum. For the last ten of his 25 years there, Kellgren was deputy county museum director/editor-in-chief. Later he was regional cultural manager in Västerbotten and director of Nordic Cultural Contact. In the 1990s he was picture editor for Norrländsk uppslagsbok.
