Einar Wallquist's home

The Doctor's house

Einar Wallquist put a personal touch on his home.

Welcome to a home with a difference! Dr. Einar Wallquist, the founder of the Silvermuseet, lived here from the mid-1920s until his death in 1985.

Einar Wallquist, or "The Doctor" as he was also called, had a great interest in home decoration and art, something his home has also been characterized by. In addition to poetry, non-fiction and fiction, as well as auction catalogs, you will find several volumes of home decor magazines on the bookshelves! Mixing the Gustavian influences of his childhood home and the ever-changing fashions with the "Doctor's" hectic nature makes the house an extraordinary home.

The house, which was donated by the Wallquist family to Arjeplog municipality in the early 1990s, is located on the hill next to the health center - what was the infirmary in Einar Wallquist's time.
