The Silvermuseet changes director and invests in the future

Three smiling women in front of an old log cabin. Gunilla on the far left has semi-long, light hair and glasses and a red scarf, Malin has a dark short page and a turquoise scarf, Ingela on the far right has gray short hair, glasses and a patterned scarf.

It's time for changes at the Silvermuseet for our future development work! We are expanding and rebuilding the museum's management team.

On May 8, Malin Brännström (center) will take over as museum director. Malin is a lawyer and has lived in Arjeplog for 12 years. For the past 10 years, she has worked as a teacher and researcher at Umeå University. Previously, she has trained as a judge and worked as a federal lawyer at the Swedish Sami National Association. Malin is particularly interested in landscape and land use issues - exactly the focus of her research! We believe that Malin's experience and knowledge can lead us into the future, as we now develop the business, both in terms of the museum and research.

Ingela Bergman (right), who has been director of the museum for over 30 years, will remain and devote her time to research and development issues. Her experience and knowledge provide the stable base we need for the future.

The museum is also managed by Gunilla Balkow (left), who is responsible for administrative matters. This important work provides the security needed in all development work.

Now the museum is moving forward and we will soon tell you more about our plans for the future. Because as the museum's founder Dr. Wallqvist said - it must never stand still!
