As a result of the water regulation in Säddvájávvre, the churchyard at Silbojokk is under water when the dam is full. Human remains are eroded from the churchyard and the remains of the church structure are destroyed. For more than twenty years, the Norrbotten Museum has been carrying out inventories and excavations at low tide to rescue the finds that are eroding away.
