Our slideshow, Arjeplog - pictures of us, is a production that we are very proud of. Ingela Bergman wrote the texts and script, and the pictures were mostly taken by Bertil Sundkvist. The idea of the slideshow was to show how we live here together and that we follow the traces of that and those who have been.
We believe - and we even dare to say that we know - that many Arjeplog residents are proud of the Silvermuseet's slide show and want to show it to others. Guests from Arjeplog are often invited to the museum to see the slideshow.
We are therefore delighted and honored that the slideshow has been used as part of a discussion at the UN Expert Panel on Indigenous/Traditional Knowledge.
The discussion concerns the preparation of a guide entitled "Using Traditional Knowledge for disaster risk reduction" by the United Nations Office of Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) in collaboration with the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).
