23/9: Exhibition "Intuition at Hand"

Detail from the exhibition "Intuition at Hand", looks like a stained glass of two hands in a red circle.

Once again, we have the opportunity to invite you to a different exhibition, "Intuition at Hand" - in the museum's permanent exhibitions!

10.00 Opening of the exhibition
11.00 Speech
12.00 Performance
The exhibition is open until 14.00 during the day.
Exhibition period: 23/9 - 2/12 2023.

The exhibition is curated by students at Curating Art, Stockholm University, and artworks by three artists have been selected and will be integrated into the permanent exhibitions.

The selected artworks interact with the Silvermuseet's collection by showcasing similar materials and storytelling. The three exhibiting artists, Hedvig Bergman, Jordana Loeb and Tomas Sjögren, have used different techniques and materials to create their works, but what they have in common is that they complicate our perception of time and tools.

The dialog between the objects offers new perspectives on the collection that both celebrate and challenge. The exhibition focuses on creation through questions such as what is a tool, who makes it and can it be beautiful in its own right? Perhaps the axe and the artwork are really the same. What matters is the intuition and sense of perspective of the hand.

The exhibition has been made possible through collaboration between the project Curera (Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten) and students from the master's program in Curating Art at Stockholm University and will be shown from 23/9 - 2/12 2023.
